Race Day Schedule
6:45 a.m. -- Pre-Race Rally: The National Mall (at 3rd St., NW)
7 a.m. -- Survivors Parade of Pink Presented by Bristol-Myers Squibb: The National Mall
8 a.m. -- Runner Start: 10th St., NW & Constitution Ave., NW
8:15 a.m. -- Walker Start: 9th St., NW & Constitution Ave., NW
9:30 a.m. -- Post-Race Celebration! Includes awards ceremony and entertainment
10 a.m. -- Kids for the Cure® Race Start: The National Mall (between 4th St., NW and 7th St., NW)
Results & Awards
Open Division: Female, male, breast cancer survivor, and wheelchair
Age Groups: Female and male: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over
Breast Cancer Survivors: 20–39: Masters 40–59; Senior 60+
First place awards for open division categories to be announced at the Post-Race Celebration. Age group results will be posted on the Race website by June 20, 2008. Awards will be mailed by July 31, 2008.
American Airlines / American Eagle Roundtrip Air Transportation for One
• First place for open division female, male, wheelchair and breast cancer survivor categories
• Winner will be responsible for all applicable taxes and fees
Gifts provided by Fashion Time,
“Official Time Keeper” of the Komen National Race for the Cure®, will be awarded to:
• First, second and third place for open female, male, wheelchair and breast cancer survivor categories.
• Top three females and males in each age group.
• First place in the 20-39, masters and senior breast cancer survivor categories.
A registered participant may win in one category only.
NOTE: OFFICIAL TIMING OF THE RACE WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST HOUR ONLY. Runners who wish to be timed should start the Race near the front of the start line. If you finish after the first hour, please note your time on the official clock at the finish line.
• Medical aid stations and ambulances will be located at the start and the finish lines and along the Race route.
• For the safety of all participants, inline skates and pets are discouraged from participating
• Participants with strollers are encouraged to assemble at the end of the walker start for their own safety and the safety of fellow participants.
• This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances; in that event, there will be no refunds and your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Susan G.
Komen National Race for the Cure®.
• For those who wish to participate in the Race, but prefer an alternative short course, a Fun Run/Walk (approximately 1 mile) is available. The Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:15 a.m., the same time as the Walker start.
Take Metrobus or Metrorail to the Race
Metro will open at 5 a.m. on Race Day!
Pre/Post Race Celebration: take Orange or Blue Line to Federal Center, SW, Green or Yellow Line to Archives Navy Memorial–Penn Quarter, Red Line to Judiciary Square.
Start Line: take Orange or Blue Line to Federal Triangle, Green or Yellow Line to Archives Navy Memorial–Penn Quarter, Red Line to Metro Center.
